Hall High-Performance Booms
Hall carbon-fiber booms, like our masts, are designed to maximize performance. We are always innovating, refining our designs in the quest for ultimate performance. Lightweight, strong and reliable, a Hall boom is the perfect complement to the Hall seamless carbon mast.
As with all our products, safety is our top priority. To test our booms, we apply forces never seen in nature, bending and twisting to stress the design concept. Finite Element Analysis reveals the loads on the boom under stress, and we confirm the findings with destructive testing. Our engineers then create a highly refined laminate to meet and exceed the expected challenges. The result is an uncompromising design, ready to go to sea.
Hall Tapered Max-Depth Boom
The Hall Tapered Max-Depth Boom is designed specifically for the most aggressive racing programs, such as the America's Cup and TP 52 class. The boom is built from high modulus or super high modulus carbon and honeycomb core. The extreme taper, or cut-out, at the outboard end minimizes the torque applied by the mainsheet. Windage details are paramount as well. Hardware, such as reef line cleats, are placed inside the boom to eliminate their windage.
Hall Max-Depth Boom
This boom is also favored by high-end racing programs. The boom has a consistent height, but tapers in width at the gooseneck and the outhaul. (You can see the taper when you stand at the outboard end of the boom and look toward the mast.) Construction includes a core under standard-mod or high-mod carbon. The taper saves weight at the ends, and the max depth provides unrated sail area. The mainsheet attachment point and the clew of the mainsail are located in the same position on the boom. Combined webbing loops hold the clew/outhaul in the desired location yet allow the mainsheet to adjust to the changing position of the sail.
Hall Racing Boom
The Hall racing boom is the all-around champion of competitive sailing. Minimum size and weight, the boom structure is all carbon and super strong. The Hall racing boom is available in any modulus of carbon and is suitable for any level of racing.
