Available Services
Mast Commissioning. Hall technicians assist with stepping and ensure it is done to our satisfaction. Once the mast is in place we connect all rigging for proper fit (does not include crane or actual stepping).
Dock/Sail Tune. At the dock, we ensure that the mast is tuned properly, and, if applicable, that the jack pressure is up to specifications. Under sail, we observe the tune of the rig under normal conditions and adjust accordingly.
Rigging Inspection. We inspect all running and standing rigging. Includes disassembly and cleaning of many parts of the rig. All rigging termination points are visually inspected. Sheave pins and sheaves removed for inspection, spreaders removed to inspect spreader bars/roots, and all gooseneck fittings inspected. Electrical wiring is inspected for chafe. We also check all light fittings, blocks, cars, track, clutches, and any other hardware. A complete cleaning of all rigging ends, pins, and cars can be added if the mast is going into storage. We provide a detailed report of our findings, including suggestions for any additional work required.
Mast Inspection. Technician looks for cracks in high stress areas as well as wear spots from halyards. High stress areas include standing rigging attachments, sheave boxes, spreader bases and roots, and masthead. Can include ultrasound and/or rigging dye test if needed. We provide a detailed report of our findings, including suggestions for any additional work required. Boom and spinnaker pole inspections are also available.
Carbon Work. Includes all grinding, prep work, carbon lay-up, and disposal of materials. In-shop repair is also available.
Ultrasound Testing. We use our machine to test for delamination or cracks in any carbon mast, pole, or boom.
Mast Modification. Adding parts, such as a radar bracket, or assembling standing rigging.
