The U.S. facility is located in Bristol, Rhode Island. Hall employs 85 people in the U.S. and occupies 7158 m2 (77,048 ft2) production space. The factory has two purpose-built autoclaves: the 46-meter (151-foot) autoclave cures America's Cup masts and most superyacht spars in one cure cycle and the 20-meter (66-foot) autoclave is used for spinnaker poles and parts.
When it was founded in the summer of 1980, Hall occupied 7 Burnside St., the current home of the Herreshoff Marine Museum. A move was made to a larger factory at 17 Peckham Drive in 1990 and then to the current facility in 2004.
All engineering is completed in-house. Hall engineers use dynamic finite element analysis (FEA) in combination with solid modeling to analyze rig loads and create the lightest, strongest rigs possible. There is a team of engineers at each factory. Engineers, as well as shop employees, routinely rotate among the factories to share ideas and ensure consistent quality.
Hall Spars & Rigging assembles standing and running rigging packages for our mast projects and for a wide range of customers worldwide. The rigging shop has complete rod heading and cable swaging capabilities, as well as the ability to retrofit using composite fibers. A factory-trained service team is also available to assist our customers with the maintenance of their Hall products and improvement of their existing spars and rigging systems.
Principals of the company (encompassing all facilities) are Eric Hall, President; Ben Hall, Vice President; and Phil Garland, Vice President.
