Hall Seamless Mast, Oceanfurl Boom for New Oyster 125 |
|
Design work is underway for a spectacular four-spreader Seamless carbon mast and Hall carbon Oceanfurl boom for the new Oyster 125. The Oyster 125 is the largest superyacht in the new Dubois-designed range recently introduced by Oyster Marine. Hall's aerospace quality process is the perfect complement to the high-tech construction being used for the hull. Built at RMK Marine, the carbon/Kevlar hull is one of the largest continuous infusion structures ever built. The Oyster 125 will launch in 2011. |

The newest Oyster 575 is rigged with a three-spreader Hall Seamless carbon mast and Hall Oceanfurl boom. This is hull No. 5 of the successful new Rob Humphreys design. Following the launch and sea trials, the yacht was delivered to the owner in the Canary Islands. The Oyster 575 was named the Best Sailing Yacht at the Asia Boating Awards earlier this year. |

J/111 Spars with Nanotube Technology |

The new J/111 from J/Boats launched in early August with a full set of Hall Seamless spars. "It's really fun to drive," says Ben Hall following the initial stepping and sail trials. "The helm is beautifully balanced. The sailplan has a very high aspect ratio, and the a-sail is really big," he adds. "Combined with the lightweight hull, the overall speed is impressive." The new J/111 mast features Hall's single-piece Seamless construction combined with carbon nanotube technology. Zyvex Corporation's Arovex is a new line of carbon nanotube pre-pregs made to our specifications just for the J/111 project. To create Arovex, carbon nanotubes are mixed into resin. The resin/nanotube mixture is then combined with carbon fibers to create a pre-preg. During our autoclave-curing process, the nano-infused resin is heated until it becomes liquid, at which point it completely surrounds the carbon fibers. When the resin sets, the nanotubes add strength to the resin, improving the overall strength of the finished product without adding the weight of additional fibers or the expense of a higher modulus of carbon. The tall, powerful sailplan of the exiting new J/111 is the perfect platform for this technology. We're looking forward to the launch of Hull No. 2 shortly, and many more to follow. |

Comet 100 Will Have Hall Seamless Spars |
Hall Spars has been commissioned build a three-spreader fractional Seamless carbon mast for the new Comet 100 designed by Andrea Vallicelli. The Comet 100 is the largest of the popular Comet line of yachts built in Italy by Comar. The Comet 100 will also feature a signature Hall VBoom, and will sail with masthead spinnakers. The launch is anticipated in late spring of 2011. |

Baltic 112 Reichel Pugh Nauta |
The spectacular Baltic 112 RPN Nilaya was launched in Finland in June. Designed for racing performance, Nilaya has a 48m, high-modulus Hall Seamless spar fit with Hall SCR standing rigging with titanium fittings. The Hall-supplied running rigging package is made up of all high-performance Gottifredi Maffioli ropes. The Baltic 112 was built by Baltic Yachts and designed by Reichel Pugh and Nauta. |
